Med.uk provides a comprehensive appointment booking and management system that connects patients with healthcare providers. Our platform makes it easy to find available appointments, book them with just a few clicks, and manage your healthcare schedule effectively.

How to Book Appointments

Booking an appointment through Med.uk is a straightforward process designed with ease and convenience in mind:

    Sign in to your Med.uk account

    Access the platform with your patient account credentials. If you don't have an account yet, you'll need to sign up first.

    Navigate to the Appointments page

    Click on "Appointments" in the main navigation menu to access the appointment booking interface.

    Find a healthcare provider

    You can search for providers by name, specialty, location, or availability. Browse the directory or use filters to narrow down your options.

    Select an available time slot

    Once you've chosen a provider, you'll see their available time slots. Choose a date and time that works for you.

    Specify appointment details

    Select the appointment type (in-person, video, or phone) and provide a brief reason for your visit to help the provider prepare.

    Confirm your booking

    Review all details and click "Book Appointment" to confirm. You'll receive a confirmation email with all appointment details.

Tip: If you're looking for the earliest available appointment with any provider in a particular specialty, use the "Next Available" filter in the search options.

Managing Your Appointments

Med.uk gives you full control over your appointments after they're booked:

For Patients

  • View Appointments

    Access all your upcoming and past appointments in your Patient Portal.

  • Reschedule

    Need to change your appointment time? You can reschedule up to 24 hours before your appointment.

  • Cancel

    If you can't make it, you can cancel your appointment through your Patient Portal.

  • Add to Calendar

    Download a calendar file (ICS) to add your appointment to your personal calendar.

For Providers

  • View Schedule

    See your full appointment schedule in day, week, or month views.

  • Confirm Appointments

    Review and confirm new appointment requests from patients.

  • Reschedule/Cancel

    If needed, you can reschedule or cancel appointments with automatic patient notification.

  • Block Time Slots

    Block specific time slots for administrative tasks, breaks, or holidays.

Appointment Types

Med.uk supports multiple appointment types to suit various healthcare needs:

In-Person

Face-to-face consultations at the provider's practice. Ideal for physical examinations, procedures, and complex conditions.

Video Consultation

Virtual appointments via secure video link. Perfect for follow-ups, minor issues, and situations where physical presence isn't necessary.

Phone Consultation

Telephone appointments for quick discussions, prescription renewals, or situations where video isn't practical.

The availability of each appointment type depends on the provider's preferences and the nature of the healthcare service. Some providers may offer all three types, while others may specialize in one or two formats.

Appointment Reminders

Med.uk automatically sends appointment reminders to help you stay on schedule:

Automatic Reminders

    24-Hour Reminder

    A day before your appointment, you'll receive an email reminder with all appointment details.

  • 1h
    1-Hour Reminder

    An hour before your appointment, you'll receive an SMS reminder (if you've provided your mobile number).

  • Reschedule/Cancellation Notifications

    If your appointment is rescheduled or cancelled by the provider, you'll receive an immediate notification.

Note: You can customize your reminder preferences in the "Communication Settings" section of your Patient Portal.

For Healthcare Providers

If you're a healthcare provider, Med.uk offers comprehensive tools for managing your appointments and schedule:

Provider Appointment Management

Setting Your Availability

Define your working hours, break times, and appointment duration through the Schedule Management interface in your Provider Portal. You can set different schedules for each day of the week and mark days off.

Managing Patient Appointments

View and manage all patient appointments from your dashboard. You can see patient details, appointment reasons, and appointment history to prepare for each consultation.

Updating Appointment Status

Mark appointments as completed, reschedule if needed, or cancel with automatic patient notification. Add notes and follow-up recommendations after each appointment.

Calendar Integration

Sync your Med.uk schedule with external calendars (Google Calendar, Outlook, etc.) to maintain a single view of all your commitments.
